Does anyone think that her character seemed to change alot as the series went on. In Season 1 she just seemed really strange and then in Season 2 when she begins to fall for Cooper she is really likeable and you want them to get together. Oh, and what was the thing with her brother all about (I'm struggling to rememeber, having only watched the episodes once)

I think Audrey grows up and becomes more mature and sensible, as the series goes on.

Her brother Johnny has psychological problems and is out of touch with reality. He likes to dress up as a Native American with feathers. The family tries to help him, enlisting Dr Jacoby, but there is only so much they can do. As a result, Audrey feels a bit isolated and does not have a good friend she can talk to.

She unfortunately lost all of her weirdness and capriciousness after the One Eyed Jacks affair.  The writers turned her into a Daddy's Girl-type ingenue.  Her hatred for her father--- one of her driving character traits-- was eliminated.  It's hard to reconcile the rebellious, spying Audrey of the first series with the more lightweight one of the second.  I just never saw her becoming her father's underling, entering a beauty pageant, and having sex in a plane (!) with a romance novel cliche while Pete waits patiently (!?) outside.  You can't really blame Fenn for becoming a little embittered about how her character was diluted.

When does Audrey actually lose her power as a character?  I think that despite being a damsel in distress in the OEJ plot, she still retains the nature of her character -an impulsive dreamer who gets in over her head.

The character still works quite well right through helping Agent Cooper with the drug frameup.  She uses her charms on Bobby but only to help Cooper -her interplay with Denise is wonderfully in character -trying to be composed but flustered and excited and the playful look after marking her territory with the Cooper kiss.  It is the next episode where it unravels for me and seems like a completely new character that comes out of left field.

While hardly dismissed in the series, Audrey is then left with an inane can-do girl Firday plot that contradicts the nature of the character to begin with.  Then the numerous episodes with Jack while mirroring the Annie plot seems like merely a way to keep arguably the two most popular characters (Cooper and Audrey) on screen with important A stories.

Can I please just blame Lara Flynn Boyle?

Perhaps Audrey softened/blanded-out once she reconciled with Ben?  Her bad girl character arose mainly due to his ignoring her.  She sure managed to forgive the OEJ imbroglio pretty easily. Could she have maybe had just a liiiiiiittle craving for the "white horse"? Or at least  English caramels?  I really wish they would've shown the talent portion of the pageant, where she stuffed her mouth full of cherries, ate them, then extracted a lovely stem/pit cherry rosary!!!  Bless you, my child!!!!
