how could it work? it couldn't. getting the original cast back together would be near impossible, considering kyle, for one, would never do it again. Some of the cast has passed away, and others, like richard beymer, are nearly 70! of couse he could recast it, but recasting RARELY works, espescially when TP is known for its great ensemble cast in the first place. i could barely stand moira kelly in FWWM. no no no, it would never ever work...a book or something might be nice though.

| QUOTE:an anime season 3 would be amazing | or nauseating. the greatest part of Peaks was the look; of the sets, the woods the actors. It was organic. You can't imitate that with a cartoon.

Had the series continued, it would've been a great opportunity to bring some of the background characters to feature player status and explore their stories. Ronnette could be more than just a victim, the mystery of Johnny Horne's mental state (and his possible recovery) could be tackled, the two little-seen younger Hayward girls could replace some of the high schoolers who would reasonably move on, Joey Paulson and some of the other Bookhouse Boys would get storylines, and Sheryl Lee could return yet again in a new form. In retrospect, the series (along with the brilliant Profit) might've debuted too soon at a time when TV just wasn't able to accomodate rule-breaking programming. Network TV couldn't sustain it, but a decade later I could picture it garnering an audience on cable the way The Sopranos, Nip/Tuck, Oz, Deadwood, Six Feet Under, and Dexter have. I wish Lynch could start a new series on a cable network that would embrace his strangeness for a smaller, devoted audience rather than try to reign it in for a bigger, disinterested one.

A season 3 of Twin Peaks would be excellent. Only thing is after that finishes we would want a season 4

hehe, yeah, we wouldn't be satisfied with a s3, then we'd want a 4, and then a 5 and so on *lol*
though, i don't see it as impossible to do a s3, maybe not a s3 that's continuing on the s2, but, what is it now, 18 years later? i mean, even characters in tp could have died or moved or whatever...of course it would not be exactley the same, but i wouldn't want it that way anyway...if there would be an s3, it would have to be something quite different and new!

true.......but what if they could pull off another time zone.... like in 30 years time in the red room.......that would be dope they have no real reality there so it would have to make sense . like casting and aged actors....

Exactly. Re-watching Season 2 I can't help but wish some of these characters had been developed more fully instead of bringing in brand new characters like Evelyn Marsh and Malcolm Sloan. Where, for instance, is Ben Horne's wife while he's having his breakdown?
As for Season 3, I liked the idea of doing the 25 years later story - maybe as a one-off film. The main problem, to me at least, being Frank Silva's death. Twin Peaks without Bob isn't Twin Peaks and I can't imagine another actor playing Bob except Frank.

I think a better season 3 idea would be an interactive element taken to a logical conclusion. Make a TP scratch 'n' sniff card (like John Waters did for Polyester), with familiar odors (coffee, Douglass firs, scorched engine oil, etc.) & a plot synopsis for the particular episode. Now here's where it gets tricky... the cards would also be treated with say, ether and/or gaseous haliperidol, say, so that the "viewer" could then "envision" his or her own particular scenario...
