Roadshow will be releasing the M2K edition of Lost Highway in Australia very soon, like they did with FWWM a few months ago.

More specs when they arrive.

I'm getting gooey over the prospect of this one. I'm in love with my FWWM from MK2. Those people do good work.

Double-disc, huh? Just rented a R4 L.H. for the extras, but it was just the stuff that's already on Pretty as a Picture!!!

Curiously, the OFLC (Australian MPAA) have upgraded the previous R rating of Medium Level Violence, Medium Level Sex Scenes to High Level Violence, High Level Sex Scenes.

The previous R4 release was pretty bad. The extra features listed on the back cover do not appear on the disc. And it would have been nicer to feature the whole documentary of Pretty as a Picture, instead of little clips. The transfer isn't too bad, although the 2.0 sound is terrible.

Here is a comparison of the Shock R4 release compared to the M2K release:

Ok, I just happened to go to DVD beaver again, and I was reminded of that shot of the profile of Patricia Arquette naked. Can anyone explain to me how those shadows would be cast like that?

i just bought a version of the movie today. can someone fill me in on the history of why some versions are poorer than others? i just watched it and the sound had poor compression. i can barely hear anything and the next minute the sound is blasting. plus the picture isn't even that good, at times it seems pixelated. i'm very unimpressed as this is one of my favourite movies and i wanted to get what i payed for.

was it originally made like that? it seems they would have no problem with those things at the time the movie was made.

QUOTE:The R2 is out tomorrow. Can't wait!!

I received my copy of the two-disc R2 set yesterday and was very pleased with it.  The second disc contains the extras and there are some familiar snippets of interviews from the cast and Lynch which do look like out-takes from the "Lost Highway" section of "Pretty as a Picture: The Art of David Lynch".  I haven't watched the entire film through yet, however I viewed the first ten minutes and the picture and sound quality are pristine.

The highlight of the extras disc for me though is the multi-camera angle interview with Lynch shot in 2005.  This is new to me and I'm assuming it was made especially for one of the releases of the film, as it is shot in the house which David bought purposefully as a location for "Lost Highway" and he make's some candid remarks about the content of the film at a level to which I'm not used to, especially the references to the inspiration partly coming from the O.J. Simpson murder case.

I have yet to pick up a copy, but I hear the disc is the same as M2K, including booklet & DTS.

I bought the region 4 lost highway last weekend, it's very nice to have!  I don't care what David Lynch talks about, I could listen to him talk for hours, he's very interesting.  The 2006 interview is good, and I like the multiple angles.
