Why does bob/leland go all crazy when the sprinkler system comes on and he gets wet? Is that because bob is a fire being that can't stand water? If so how does poor old Leland take a shower?

Another thing that I always kept wondering about is the fact that Leland is being pulled over by Coop and Harry for reckles driving and Leland/bob wants to show Cooper his new golfclubs. Then you see a shot of the bag with maddy in it. What is Leland/bob trying to do here?

I always thought BOB broke Leland when they killed Laura, and Leland's beviour became even more erratic and uncontrollable. Perhaps Leland was trying to get caught, and tried to get BOB into trouble.

When BOB left Leland he said something like "He has been a good host, but he is full of holes" (not an exact quote). Leland was too unstable for BOB, and since they lost Laura,  there was no point in staying anymore.

It's pretty obvious that Leland was trying to kill Coop with the golf club... pretty stupid plan though with Harry standing right there... he must have been really out of it by then.

That god damn trailer's more popular than Uncle's Day in a whorehouse!

It may just be implied, but I get the sense that Leland is fraying as a host, becoming more manic and unpredictable as Laura's secrets come to light.  BOB himself has no fear of capture/imprisonment, so he can afford to enjoy the downspiral.

Um he was lifting a golf club over his head... put one and one together. The writers admitted that they were just making it up as they went along... the BOB possessing Coop thing was only made up shortly before ep 29 was filmed.

No,I disagree. After all it was not Cooper who asked Leland to show him his new golfclubs, but Leland offered that to Cooper. Why would Leland/BOB do such thing, when he knew the corpse of Maddy was in his car? I think it was not on purpose, but just Leland/BOB was getting really crazy.BOB didn't have any reason to do that,as he didn't have any reason to drive like crazy...the reason is only one - BOB is just crazy, and feeds on pleasures...seems he likes " living" on the edge and just loves to taunt Cooper and the rest, cause they are powerless to stop him. That kinda entertains him!

I believe too that BOB was going to hit Coop with the golf club, just look at his face... Though I agree with ivalinda that he's going crazy, not thinking about what he's doing and how that can put Leland, his vessel, in danger. I mean...killing Maddy (and Donna!) in your own house? Carry a corpse around? Drive like he did? BOB was losing control...

And before you say that BOB was a beast-like spirit, he's never in control, just remember for example his elaborate plan to frame Ben (fox's white hair, phone call,...). He obviously doesn't want Leland in prison, because then he'd need to leave that vessel and find another one, which is not an easy task...

I don't agree that Leland was going to hit Coop with the golf club, but rather his face is like that because of what Harry is saying about Mike at the same time.

"watch out for my cousin.."

Yeah,Maddy! You're right! I've never thought of that...BOB didn't want Cooper and Harry to find Gerard/Mike!

It may have been a taunt, like the letters under the fingernails.  As if for the thrill of letting Cooper get close to than answer just to tease him.  I really don't think he was going to club him either.  Then again, this episode WAS written by Scott Frost, so anything's possible.  :)

I always thought Leland was about to hit Dale with the club, but I'm open to the idea that he was doing it just like some people make funny faces when no-one is looking. Like, "oh dear that Coop is so stupid and annoying... I'd so much like to hit him dead with this club.......... damn that Coop..." and when Coop looks, he's like nothing happened. When he puts the club away after Coop and Truman have left he kinda has that kind of "that Coop... what an asshole" -look on his face.
