This probably isn't any big deal to many people, but I found an audio hiccup in the S2 set.  During the melee Earle creates at the end of the Miss Twin Peaks Pageant, some of the original dialog/voice over gets dropped.

And, nerd that I am, I just checked it with my crappity crap Worldvision ELP VHS tapes.  Here's the VHS version:

Nadine gets hit with a sandbag and goes "UGH!"
DOC HAYWARD "Good Lord!  Come with me, Annie!"  ... "This way!"
Coop sees Windom Earle in his Log Lady get-up
COOPER (voice over) "Windom Earle!"
An explosive device goes off

And the new version:

Nadine gets hit with a sandbag and goes "UGH!"
DOC HAYWARD "Good Lord!  ... "This way!"
Coop sees Windom Earle in his Log Lady get-up
An explosive device goes off

Don't believe me?  Check it out!

Scan-Dahl!

I've verified this as well, also verified it against the videos from the european broadcast that I have. The videos from europe have it, the DVDs don't.

Doesn't bother me one bit though.

That's funny as hell, geoff!! I found myself quoting along while I was watching the season 2 DVDs (as I am sure a lot of you were)and during the scene in question, I said "Windom Earle" like Cooper was supposed to and I thought to myself, "Didn't he say 'Windom Earle' there before?". It's nice to know you got our back and I don't have to keep an eye on my after dinner coffeee consumption...

I seem to recall that they did something similar on the Season 1 DVDs, however, it was using an alternate line between Coop and Truman. I recently rewatched it but remember that I caught it the first time around.

It's for reasons like this that I wish they included the original audio track as well.

This reminds of the "TO BE CONTINUED" lines that (don't) appear at the end of S1.

Yeah. That was just plain stupid. I'm gonna try and write Paramount to see if they can fix some of these glitches the next time around. However then they would be admiting that there is a problem. :P

For me, the fact Coop doesn't say "Windom Earle" IS disturbing. I've always found that line to be important, not exactly sure why...

I'll keep an eye on this once ep 28 gets released on the R2 set.

Heheh, well the funny thing is John, the video footage is exactly the same. The two pieces of missing dialog are heard when the character is not shown on screen. So this is something that could have easily been put it way at the end of the process, I'd think. And maybe the footage they created the DVDs from didn't have that chunk of audio... ya know what I'm saying? Who knows. :) Like I said, it don't both me.

Now this really sucks! I mean, why would they remove the lines? It doesn't make anything better in any way! Damn, I really hope, but doesn't think, that we get the original lines in the R2-set...

I'm willing to bet a month's wages that the audio will be the same for R2. After all, the American BOB-less carpet was used for episode 8 in the R2. I think this will be the same.

I suppose episode 28 and 29 are separate episodes too? No "two-hour movie", I reckon?

"What credit card do you want to put that on?"
"Caash, prease."

Most likely it was an oversight. I'm sure mixing 22 Episodes back to back you are bound to forget something. For the recent Superman DVD set, they forgot to include the original 1978 Audio track and actually did a replacement program to replace the discs for those that wanted to have the corrected audio track.

Not sure what Paramount will do or if they will even respond.
