 **MAJOR SPOILERS**

Most of you know that the European version of the series has BOB's face on the rug in Maddy's vision. That's the biggest difference between these two versions. But lately I've found out that it has several tiny little editing differences in several episodes. I've talked about it in another thread but I thought we should have own thread to this subject.

So, Twin Peaks is on air here in Finland right now. They just showed us the episode where Maddy gets killed. (btw, they say on tv that this episode is the last episode of the 1st season.... and when they had a commercial break right after Dale had said that they need a warrant for Ben Horne they showed an advert of the series where Leland turning into BOB was clearly seen! now THAT's messing things up....).

I have an European release of the 2nd season part I of II DVD box and I found out that it's actually the same as the US version of the series as it doesn't have the face of BOB on the rug. And as I said, there are several differences in the editing between these two versions. Here's a list of some of them:

EP.14

-When Leland gets down to put the letter under Maddy's fingernail and we are shown the image of dead Maddy on the floor, in the European version (in the episode I just saw on TV) the image has been freezed. In the DVD the camera is seen moving a bit.

-Before Maddy comes down the stairs and the doorway is shown, the image is again freezed but in the DVD the camera moves a bit.

-In the DVD version when BOB is shown in the mirror for the first time, he is more alive in the mirror and right before the end of the shot he blinks his eyes. In the European version he doesn't blink and it seems like the image of BOB is a freeze frame of the actual video.

-DVD: When Leland attacks Maddy he is seen starting to run from his standing position. In the European version they cut from Maddy to Leland when he is already running and almost off the screen.

EP.15

-DVD: When Leland looks into the mirror, BOB starts to smile a bit. In the European version BOB doesn't smile. I recall it looks like the image of BOB has been frozen again.

So, what do you think about these differences (if you actually managed to understand what I wrote)? Why do you think they've added these weird "freeze frames" to some of the shots?

I noticed those differences too... I was so familiar with the spanish DVDs that I saw the changes inmediately and even had the impression in other scenes that things were not as I'd always seen them...though in those I didn't recognize what had changed.

Regarding Ep 14 Rami, I thought the same thing about BOB in the mirror. He does look more alive, and right after that, when Leland turns to BOB and he's laughing, before Leland turns to us, BOB looks much more scarier. I thought that was the result of a much more clear image. Anyway, Maddy's murder scene was the best scene so far to watch with a new image. And now that we're discovering new shots and angles, I'm even more thrilled. Mr Lynch probably gave this scene some kind of special treatment, since it was one of the bests in the entire series.
