I know it is supposed to look like blood, but i dunno...it kinda doesn't look like blood to me, it's more like someone is brushing the carpet from the wrong side (that sounds really stupid, but i can't explain it in english)...u know with the material the carpet is made of, if u brush it sideways it will change colour...if u compare it to the rest of the carpet...

I understand what you mean, but to me it looks like blood, and it is Maddy's blood that will appear later on the carpet during her murder(as it has been said many times).

I prefer the scene with BOB's appearance. This was the original idea and i don't understand what is that US vs EU thing,to me it doesn't really matter, but the scene is more creepy with BOB :)

Beware of BOB

BOBBOB

When I call out no one can hear me,when I whisper he thinks the message is for him only..my little voice inside my throat,I always think there must be something that I've done or something I can do...But no one no one comes to help,he says,a little girl like you...

Makes total sense to me, Lilla! That´s what it looks like to me also...

I don´t find that scene without Bob scary at all. NOt crazy about the effect either, but it was made 17 years ago, so what can you expect. Bob should be in it. But of course, that´s because that´s how I´ve always known that scene

I saw that scene for the first time when I was 8-10 years old. I got creeped out by the weird appearing stain and even more creeped out after Bob showed up on it. Back then I didn't actually know it was blood. I just thought it was something extremely weird and scary. I kind of thought that it was something like a weird "layer" that needed to be there so that Bob could show up.

I prefer Bob on the rug. Even if it was a bit cheesy today I feel it's something that HAS to be in Twin Peaks storywise.

Same for me! I was about 8-9 years old when I first saw it, so of course i didn't understand it was blood, just (like u describe it) a strange layer that had some connection with bob showing up...

many years later i read somewhere it's supposed to be blood, but my head still doesn't see it that way...strange...but of course it's logical...

and yes! - the scene is much more scary with bob in the rug! Hallelujah!

I got the R1 set early this morning (try midnight--yes, I am a nerd) and it's official:  no cheesy BOB animation over the bloody carpet sequence.  Just blood and an inexplicably freaked out Maddy like usual (for me).

yeah, i know it's true since i got it weeks ago...but since i grew up with BOB in the rug - i still think the whole scene without him is more cheesy then ever! But i'll guess i somehow will get used to it...and i still have the scene with him on my VHS's that's some relief!
