I´m Danish, so I´ve never celebrated it. BUT, since I´m in Bangkok where you meet a lot of people, incuding the Irish, we´re going to Kao San road tonight to celebrate =get insanely drunk with a bunch of friends + all the other backpackers who has gotten the dame idea.

Have a good night LetRouqe

I'll be wearing the green today! I should be preparing some Let's Roque's Mama's Irish Stew but it's summertime here -- or it feels like it -- and the weather is all wrong for such a meal. Afraid that recipe may be on hold until the end of the year when/if the weather cools down.

I'll be thinking warm fuzzy thoughts about the Emerald Isle today! Right now I am mentally walking through the graveyard at the entrance to the Sheen Falls Lodge and up to the stable where my horse is waiting. Now I'm trotting through the adjacent hillside... Ahhhhhhhhh, 'twas lovely!

Well, I'm making "the green" today, as I will be tomorrow. So tonight I'll eat some Lucky Charms, put on some Van Morrison, unwrap a fresh bar of Irish Spring (manly, yes. But I like it too!), then, just as St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland, so shall I drive the snake from my pants... and then, well, to quote Ian Dury: "What happens next is private. It's also very rude."  Erin, go bra-less!!!

Here's to ya, everybody (said with an Irish accent)

Happy Paddys day every body. My night got cut short by two things: The pissin wet rain, and I lost my bloody ID. Queued for half an hour to get into a bloody club, only to realise at the door I had lost it.

I had a great St. Paddy's Day...really busy last night at work with it and the tourney going on (plus, there are first and second round games at the United Center on Friday and Sunday) so we had our share of Kansas and Kentucky fans at the bar...had a blast last night with them, giving them sports trivia and enjoying all the exciting tourney action, especially Vanderbilt's 2OT win over third seeded Washington St. Hope everyone had a groovy, fun and safe St. Patrick's Day

I read in yesterday's newspaper that they had the 7th annual St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown Los Angeles on Friday.  9 streets were closed off to through traffic and about the same number of people showed up.  Not a large Irish presence here.

We went out to dinner last night.  Corned Beef and Cabbage was on the special menu but by the time we arrived, only two orders were left.  I wore green all day but ordered an Italian Tomato, Basil and Buffalo Mozzarella followed by a French Onion soup as my main course.  Almost entirely unsatisfying!  The wine was good. Passed on the Creme Brulee.

St Paddy's went off pretty well in Perth as it usually does.

But the biggest event BY FAR on this day?  Ireland beating Pakistan in the World Cup!  Just brilliant!!

Congrats...

Nobody here even knew we had a cricket team, let alone that we beat Pakistan until a day later! So Class!
