EmpireOnline.com has an interview with David Lynch posted on their site. His first answer to every question is a "No!" almost without fail. It seemed to me like the interviewer was pestering him. Charles

Im sure David Lynch was pestered. I mean how dare the guy ask him about what the hell is going on in Inland Empire...a movie that was made with anything but the viewers sanity in mind. I mean, just let your soul wander as you watch the film and it will carry you to places unimaginable...just like Lynch wanted! Give me a break...you made the movie confusing on purpose to cover plot holes and lack of a script and he gets pestered when people want yknow, a couple answers. Answers I assume Lynch himself doesnt even know.
"Wake up and find out what the hell yesterday was about. I'm not too keen on tommorow, and today's slipping by."

Link to interview Since every single instance of the word no is followed by an exclamation point I get the mental image of Lynch getting increasingly frustrated, his face becoming flushed and a vein in his forehead starting to throb as he bangs his fist against the tabletop. Sort of like Cousin Dell in Wild at Heart.
They also have an Inland Empire explained article.
