Here is a clip on YouTube of Nikki (Laura Dern) and Devon (Justin Theroux) playing a scene from the movie they are shooting in IE.

This is confusing and, uhm, kind of Lynchan...

Am I the only one who sees this last post as a sort of mirrored thing. Wow! How did you manage to do something like this?

I have no idea how I made this happen.
I can;t even blame it on the fact that I use a Mac, as I wasn;t when I made the post that started this

But for whatever reason, this looks pretty wild

Well, it's happened. We have been absorbed by MSA's psyche. Frightening.

I must admit, this doesn't help my ever-inflating ego

So back to Inland Empire
I'm starting to think I will have to make a 8-9 hour drive to San Antonio to see this movie
And on that note, WTF? San Antonio?
When I saw that it was showing in Austin I thought, 'Ok that makes sense, Austin in the one weird city in Texas, and it usually lends itself to avant garde movies/music'
But San Antonio? Maybe I'm missing something. Especially since New Orleans is typically very good at securing interesting movies. sigh

Excuse me guys. Will I have the honour of starting an Inland Empire Part 4 and put and end to this freaky little accident that's happened with Kahlanmnel's last post? It's become kind of annoying for me now.

I'd like to see what would happen if My Secret Agent edited his post to remove the quote boxes.

he was right about something else.

Funny thing is I tried editting it many times before
Then somehow, it just worked this time.
I was kind of looking forward to what would happen when we got to the point that it moved to page 3, all within my post

Myself and a good amount of students from the College of Wooster are going to the screening of IE in Cleveland. Anyone else planning on attending during its week at the cinematehque?

This would look good on your wall.

Tell me about it. I'm currently trapped in my dorm, two feet of snow. Ah!

I don't know if there is snow in Cleveland. Those were the first two lines from a song by The Band. I live in Italy and here it's almost spring, even though calendarly speaking it's still winter.

the official website claims it starts tomorrow in San Antonio
Searching all the theaters in San Antonio, nothing seems to be showing up at all

Further searching of theaters in the Los Angeles and Hollywood zip codes tells me it isn't playing anywhere there

THis movie defies its viewers. You are not allowed to find it. It must find you.

QUOTE:

John, now that I think about it, I might as well ask you about the sound mix. Does the DV have a different sound mix, you know, something other than 5.1 because (can't remember if I've mentioned this or not) in the theater where I saw IE, all the sound was focused toward the front of the theater (I'm sitting closer next time that's for sure). The theater is an older theater (which I haven't been to in 3 years or more when I saw Blue Velvet there at a midnight showing)and I can't remember what it was like, but my friend Luis said, the sound mix was more centralized because of the camera David used. Is this true and what can you tell me about the sound mix?

John, if you're still around here, I'd love to have an answer too !

I have been disappointed by the lack of imagination in the surround mix of IE. Almost nothing happens in the rears. The quality of the soundtrack is amazing, as usual, but is that mix really discrete ? I doubt it !

i've seen IE three times, including one in the only THX-certified theater in France (besides that, by far the best sounding theater I know in Paris). And even there, there was no surround feel, which I missed a lot.

Btw, just a quick answer to the post I quote, this can't be coming from the DV. Sound and picture are (hopefully !) processed individually !
