Someone mentioned Lynch has a strong interest in Abraham Lincoln. I noticed some references to Lincoln in BV and in TP pilot. I wondered if anyone else had spotted examples of Lynch's interest in Lincoln in his films and what they might "mean". Perhaps we could use this thread to collect info on the topic. Although I am sure you all spotted them, here are the ones I noticed: Blue Velvet: 1) Dorothy lives on Lincoln Ave. 2) Booth was the name of Lincoln's asassin. 3) "Trask" also lives at Dorothy's building. There is a historian called Trask who wrote about the US Civil War. Twin Peaks (Pilot) 1) There is a picture of Lincoln in the school room when Laura's death is announced.

Another Lynch/Lincoln connection: Lynch credited himself as Judas Booth (screenwriter) on the television version of "Dune" (i.e. to demonstrate his dissaciation with the extended tv version).
