It's been snowing all day. Has anyone else gotten snow? We're going to have a late night snowball fight. Is anyone else going to be having fun with the snow?

It's been unseasonably warm here in Central Ohio.  It's quite a change from Minnesota, being that I have been told that there is snow and its cold there right now and its been in the high 60's here.  But its supposed to get cold by the end of the week.....

We have freezing rain in Nebraska--then it's supposed to warm up for two days and be snowing by Wednesday; naturally I took my down coat to the cleaners in anticipation of Wed.  I'll probably be freezing tomorrow!

We've had a couple of flash blizzards here in Colorado, but all snow has been gone for weeks and it's been spring weather.

Let me check...nope.

Oh, and afaik we've never had snow here - not in recorded history anyway...

There is talk of a large indoor ski park like the one in Dubai - they're guaging public interest at the moment.  I have my doubts about the business viability of that.  Most West Aussies haven't been in snow, so wouldn't be regular skiers or anything...more likely to visit once just to feel the cold.  The other thing is all the gear you need to either buy or hire to participate - suddenly the cost is going up on the visit to snowland.

You never know - could happen I guess.

Congrats to you all who have snow - must be beautiful in many ways, and a pain in the rear in other ways.  Snow to me is a nice thing to see on holidays, but not necessarily live in...

Not a chance here I'm afraid.

I might go to Beijing soon though, they get heaps of snow.

I wish we had snow, all we have here in Belfast is shitty rain. Was chatting to my wee bro last nite and he said Vancouver is 1 foot deep in snow right now...

This is the place I live, quite "Twin-peaks-looking"..(its the nothern part of Spain nearly France) Usually we have snow in november at least in mountains. This year is different, still without snowing..I guess we will meet x-mas without any..May be its the result of a global climatic change as well as this summer tornado in the Mediterranean  sea which was very little typical for this region.Another thing is skiing,I wonder when we can start it this winter..December begins and skiing slopes are still green.I have to start thinking about alternative kind of sport soon!

We had one day of snowfall in mid-to-late october and since then just 3 days of rain every couple weeks or so...last winter was awfully mild and February ended up being the coldest month...November pretty much equals last year's...mild and rainy...(that's in Chicago, by the way, in case you're not aware of my location).

There's talk that we may not get any snow this year.  I guess there was pretty much no snow last year.  It will be a nice change but I have gotten to like the cold over the years...

We didn't have a single flake here in Chicago and it has been in the upper 60s and feeling very strange putting up the tree and lights in shorts.

It's 36 degrees celsius, here in Australia. What's that in fahrenheit?

However, it did snow recently near Melbourne, albeit over bushfires. There was also a little snow in very sunny Queensland - never heard of such a thing before. Weather has been weird this year.

Beauty is momentary in the mind -
The fitful tracing of a portal;
But in the flesh it is immortal.
The body dies; the body's beauty lives.
So evenings die, in their green going,
A wave, interminably flowing.
So gardens die, their meek breath scenting
the cowl of winter, done repenting.
So maidens die, to the auroral
Celebration of a maiden's choral.
Susanna's music touched the bawdy strings
Of those white elders; but, escaping,
Left only Death's ironic scraping.
Now in its immortality, it plays
On the clear viol of her memory,
And makes a constant sacrement of praise.

Anything in the 30s celsius is HOT in fahrenheit as I recall.

Angi, is that where you live in the upper right of that photo?!  WOW!  Beautiful and without too many annoying neighbors, huh?

Snow???  I'm afraid I have little memory of that concept though we actually had R-A-I-N in the wee hours of the morning.  Yesterday was the first evening where I lit a fire in the fireplace this 'season.'  It must have been 50-something last night!  Fahrenheit.

I had hoped to see at least a few snowflakes while back in Michigan a week or so ago but no luck.  Guess I need to try some time in December or January.

Rachel, I wish you had taken a photo to share of your 3-headed snow-person!  Did you pretend that it was Parson Brown(s)?

I dread snow in Seattle as I have an older small car (& no cell phone) & the idiot drivers here with their killer SUVs HUMVs & whathever else Vees  don't see the necessity to adjust their aggressive weaving/tailgating/speedracer ways to suit the weather,so  I fear for my life when I have to drive in the snow/rain/fog.   Luckily, the snows rarely last long...

Your "sh1tty rain" was also in Glasgow this morning when I left it. Now in London for a few days due to work, and it's the worst of all weathers, damp, cloudy, bit clammy - then again London always is.......

Like Smokey, in mid-October, we had a day of snow. About 3-4 inches. Then it melted uber fast. I did pelt Eric with a couple of snowballs while the gettin' was good, though. But as far as November goes, it has been WARM. Have been loving it. Last night it was 59. Was driving around town with the windows down. Today is only supposed to be in the 30's, with 20's tomorrow and a chance of snow. Bummer is it won't be the snowman snow. That will come soon enough I guess...my friend Heather in the UP of Michigan usually gets hit pretty hard around this time of year--though they have nothing as of yet...

The snow around here has turned kind of powdery. It's not snow man friendly anymore, But it is sled-tastic. I broke my ass last night going off an ice ramp on a garbge lid ( or as I dubbed it "the college student's sled"). It was hardcore. We're supposed to get more snow around 3:00 or 4:00 pm. I am on my way to the shower so more sledding can be done. The college has been closed since monday, so I'm school free. :)

We are currently getting an ice storm that will later turn to snow. This is supposed to last through Thursday night, according to Accuweather.

Sledding sounds like fun!!! Ahh...garbage lids. Nice and fast! I have a big tube I use in the summer with which to go sledding. Sucker flies! Can't wait til' we get enough snow for sledding. Man...I remember last year, on our local big sledding hill, these group of guys were trying to go down the hill on a mattress. Didn't work worth a damn. Eric and I went together in a tube--almost didn't stop!! Our combined weight made quite the rocket...LOL

Due to snow, it took me seven hours to drive from Seattle to Bellingham on Sunday night, and then I had two days off from work.  It has been freezing cold, and my door's lock froze over the other day, trapping me in my house.  Today is my first day back to work, which has been good.  I felt like I was losing my mind at home all the time.

It's 61 degrees at 8am right now.  It's supposed to drop to low 30s and then we are to get rain and snow.  I guess the winter storm going through MO is headed this way.  It's raining right now, but it is 61 so nothing to really complain about.  I'm sorry, it will drop only 20 degrees...still a significant drop....I'm a little afraid of what its going to be like with snow removal and people driving here.  It's raining and there has already been about 4 accidents this morning.  Luckily I have four wheel drive and 5 years in MN under my belt so 2 inches of snow shouldn't be a problem to me :)  Although my roomie's rear wheel drive Mustang may have some issues....
