I have spoekn to some festers about my theory and the encouraged me to start a thread about it on the Twin Peaks & FWWM board. So, here goes. The second time I was watching the series I couldn't help but notice something unsettling. Could the Black Lodge be a alagory for anal sex? The third time I watched it I couldn't stop giggling.
Read this and try to doubt me: In episode 17 hawk describes the Black Lodge, " There is also a legend of a place called the Black Lodge, the shadow-self of the White Lodge. The legend says that every soul must pass through there on the way to perfection. There you will meet your own shadow-self. My people call it The Dweller on the Threshold…but it is said if you face the Lodge with imperfect courage, it will utterly annihilate your soul."
I would like to draw your attention to "The Dweller on the Threshold."
Next point, in episode 26 Earl describes the Black Lodge in contrast to the White Lodge (the vagina). "Once upon a time there was a land of great goodness called the White Lodge. Gentle fawns gamboled there amongst happy, laughing spirits. The sounds of innocence and joy filled the air and when it rained, it rained sweet nectar that infused one’s heart with the desire to live one’s life in truth and beauty. Generally speaking, a ghastly place, reeking of virtue’s sour smell. But I am happy to point out that our story does not end in this wretched place…for there is another place, it’s opposite. A place of almost unimaginable power, chock full of dark forces and vicious secrets….spirits there are as likely to rip the flesh from your bones than greet you with a happy “good day”…And to harvest these spirits in this hidden land…would offer up a power so vast that it’s bearer might reorder the Earth itself to his liking. Now, this place I speak of is known as the Black Lodge and I intend to find it." Note the verbage: "rip the flesh." Two more points: 1) When Leo ties Laura up on the night of her death she says "Leo NO!" and "Don't go there." We know this from witness testimony of Waldo the minna bird. Perhaps he was going for the butt. 2 ) And, now that you think about it, don't you think entrance to the Lodge sort of look like a butt?
What do you think?

Yeah, the part that gets me the most is when Leland says "he opened me up and came inside of me." Or something like that...in reference to Robertson, the neighbor. So now, he emulates Bob...the neighbor. (do you want to play with Bob?)

Well, now wait a second, let's see, it says the Black Lodge is a place "chock full of dark forces"... full of dark forces,...now what could that be ?... Oh yeah, OK . Kind of a poetic way of describing such contents I suppose. OK then.

So then, Twin Peaks is just a metaphor for Dale Cooper ultimately being a fudge packer?

I think this is presented somewhat tongue in cheek (ah, that's the upper cheeks). That's how this (w)hole theory is offered--which reminds me of the old question "What do you think of the a** as a (w)hole ? ". I 'll stop here and avoid a dirty crack.

and, it bears repeating here that the oil was "an opening to a gateway". I've heard that one before, Ms. Margaret, and I am not falling for it again. -cg

Guys, this is by 12rainbow. She wanted it transferred here to this thread where it was intended. Hope it is kosher for a member to do this. Quote : Sorry, that was in poor taste. I was going to say "a*s bandit" but I though the other was less profane.
OOOPS wrong thread. Can you guess where this is supposed to go and can you movie it there? lmao

This thread is ripe with double entendres. One poster hates the term " Fu**e Pac**r ". The response is " Sorry, that was in poor taste..." Well yes, that term f... p... and a " poor taste" might conceivably go together. Have a nice dinner. I'm exiting this thread. Getting out while the getting is still good.

LOL! This thread is consistently hilarious. Given Lynch's affinity for exploring sexual desires (given from what I've seen of his work so far, be it Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Fire Walk With Me, and naturally the entire Twin Peaks series)... who knows, eh? lol I mean if we can believe the theory the whole food obsessions in the early episodes are ment to be an analogy for sex... ;)

As in pain threshold? Your arse shouldn't rip unless you're attempting the aforementioned godless sex act with a total barbarian. I say keep yourselves nice for Jesus, or failing that use plenty of lubricant. And surely according to that rationale it would have been called the Brown Lodge?

The Dewller is the poop.
As for the godless sex act, I imagine that Laura may have done this sort of thing with Leo and/or Jacques. And the blackness refers to the darkness of the act or perhaps the loss of innocence, but now that you mention it the floor is brown.

did you doctor this donut photo? it's brilliant.
and for the record, you are fairly likely to bleed if you have anal sex, unless you are fairly experienced. and leo and jacques are about as barbarian as you get, man. -cg
