What's everyone's opinion on the Blue Bob record? I've taken a couple listens recently, and I feel that the most introspective, polished songs were already included on the Mulholland Dr. soundtrack. "I Cannot Do That" and "City of Dreams" come closest to matching the intensity of these two tracks. "Thank You, Judge" is sleazy enough that it's ridiculousness is fun, but the other songs feel either too repetitive ("Rollin' Down (To My House)", "Bad Night", "Marilyn Monroe"), or facile because they feel like they're taken too seriously ("9-1-1", "Rollin' Down (To My House)". In several instances, the percussive elements feel particularly like a tinny drum machine ("Rollin' Down (To My House)", "Pink Western Range", "Marilyn Monroe"). Also, "Blue Horse" is just a more guitar-driven version of "Dub Driving" from the Lost Highway soundtrack. I may catch some flak for a rather negative opinion of the record, but it was disappointing, given what I expected from the Mulholland Dr. soundtrack.
