Q: Will there be a Twin Peaks continuation?
A: VERY LIKELY NO.
Rumors have been around for years about a possible reunion or continuation of Twin Peaks. Sometimes these seem to be very optimistic; a supposed title for the project "Twin Peaks: With a Thousand Angels" has even circulated the rumor mill. Lynch himself has not publically expressed a desire to revisit the project. In fact, he has asserted the opposite, as quoted in an interview with David Hughes published in the November 2001 edition of Empire magazine: HUGHES: Would you ever go back to Twin Peaks?
LYNCH: No. Uh-uh. It's as dead as a doornail.
The entire text of the interview may be found here. Unless David Lynch changes his mind or Mark Frost decides to give it another chance, there will NEVER be a continuation.
Rumor has it that a company in Europe is trying to put the money together for a Twin Peaks continuation, but whether or not it's a serious notion, or whether or not Lynch is or wants to be involved is very unclear, especially considering the implications of the prospect of a Twin Peaks project going forward without one or both (or either) of its original creators. A few years back there were rumours about Keifer Sutherland and Mark Frost gearing up for a sequel to Fire Walk With Me at Dark Horizons, but nothing ever came of them.
