I know what you mean, CCC. I think the David Lynch thread is like the case of Wrapped in Plastic, whose writers had been positively grasping at straws to find stuff relevant to Peaks and Lynch to talk about. Even they seem to have admitted that there just isn't much to say right now- and there probably won't be 'til IE comes out. God knows new happenings at DL.com are as rare as Elvis sigthings these days...

Yes, yes, this is all true. And let's not forget that it was up at Jack's Mulholland compound where a certain event with Roman Polanski and the 13 year old girl from my neck of the woods. (I'll show it to you when you come to LA, CCC) It was at that same location where Cheyanne Brando's boyfriend was watching TV one night and got into a squabble with Christian Brando over the remote control. Well, that's the way Christian describes the motivating factor that caused him to shoot and kill Cheyanne's abusive boyfriend and father of her child. Later Cheyanne would complete a successful suicide attempt (finally!) but that would be back in Tahiti. Warren Beatty moved up there after living in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel's somewhat squalid penthouse for many many years. THAT place is a story in itself. But I'm not into gossip. And one other memory springs to mind. One night there was a terrible accident outside the gates of Brando's estate. This happens quite often as it is a popular spot for racing. Brando was on the scene before the fire department or the police administering to the injured. By the way, who among us HASN'T taken a golf club (or other make shift weapon) to the windshield of some numbnut LA driver? Big deal!

| QUOTE: Now can the three of us (CCC, nuart, 12rainbow) go to the In 'n Out Burger on Camrose? They've got some pretty good burgers. |
Excellent Burgers! I may go there today myself as it is over 100 degrees and way too hot to cook. There will be a ine down the street but they will move swiftly. 12rainbow, did you sample In 'n' Out when you were in LA? Though I've been to the "Camrose" store (which is actually on Lankershim in North Hollywood) we generally frequent the Woodland Hills facility as it is only a mile and a half from home. Truth be known, I'm a bigger fan of the Carney's burger but that's a little bit further of a drive -- Studio City -- right near the office building used as Jason Alexander's workplace in The Larry David Show. How's that for relevance? Susan

Mulholland Dr. is present also in Wes Craven's latest Cursed . I found the maxi-car accident with screams and noises on the street at night and then with the wolf barging in the car through the glass and grabbing the poor girl who gets literally torn apart as if she was a scarecrow made of hay and Christina Ricci and the other poor guy following them making a human chain the only truly funny scene of this absurd flick! Of course, the fun was also due to the reference I imediately got from Lynch's movie (and probably other films involving the street as a place where nothing good can happen ).
